Re: Hair triggers
My opinion - only practical for competition shooting. But to each his own i suppose. I won't criticize those who choose otherwise but I wouldn't consider it one of the smarter choices one could make.

Re: Hair triggers
Again - define hair trigger, what are YOU calling negligible?
4.5 lb?
3.5 lb?
anything less than 3?
Is there a trigger safety that prevents the trigger from moving unless there is a finger on it, like a glock trigger?
Why would they not be safe for carry?
Do you put your finger on the trigger before you are lined up for the shot?FNX-9 Two-tone

Re: Hair triggers
The use of "hair trigger" is rare in a community of enthusiasts like the PAFOA. As far as I am concerned, I do not think a trigger was ever made of hair.
If you would like to debate the purposeful decrease in pull weight on a trigger on a self defense weapon, then proceed.
Each individual is responsible for their actions, whether they are intentional or otherwise. I do not particularly have a problem with tuned up trigger actions, as all of my carry revolvers have been tuned. It would be incorrect to assume that a "tuned" trigger has been lightened to absurd proportions.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Re: Hair triggers
I already learned some of this. God forbid one use slang such as "hair trigger", "clip", or "carry permit"
I don't know, it just seems to me that if the revolver you bought that had a 4.5lb trigger pull was meant to have a 3.5 lb trigger pull, it would have come that way.... JMO though

Re: Hair triggers
Well what if the gun comes from the manufacturer with a normal production range of 3.5-4.5 pounds? you just remove some gunk/burrs - now you have a 3.5 pound trigger...
Lots of guns come from the factory with light trigger pulls in the 3-4 lb range.
OTHER safeties besides the external lever existLast edited by falcn; February 3rd, 2010 at 01:53 AM.
