Fair price for a Sig P6?
I'm not very familiar with the older Sigs, just wondering what a mid-level price would be for a West German P6. I field stripped it at the shop and everything looks in overall good condition. Also, how available are these single stack mags?

I think I paid $250 for mine (made in 1995) with 2 mags and a Don Hume IWB holster.

Definitely get one. Everyone I've ever talked to about them says they love them. They make a great casual carry gun.

Whoops I paid $350 for mine.
It is a great gun anyway. I've been carrying mine till I get my new holster for my ultra CDP II.

Think I paid $325 for mine, maybe 1.5 yrs ago. The person I bought it off of had the slide Duracoated to take care of the holster wear. The I sent it away to Todd at Customized Creationz and had another $200 of work done to it. Sweet ride now.

I like mine a lot, it's a great sturdy gun.
Don't bother with aftermarket mags. The factory ones cost a lot, but they work every time.

Re: Fair price for a Sig P6?
Distributor prices aside, At gun shops I see P6 pistols priced between $325 and $450. At a couple of shops where they price aggressively, I've seen as high as $550 and $625, the latter with a "RARE!" Post-It next to it (I asked for a "Medium Well" price and got a blank look). At any place between $325 and $450 I would let condition of the weapon and wallet be your guide from there.
Any P6 / P225 will show "smile" wear points on the barrel, but a better indicator of how much has been through it is to look at the wear on the underside of the slide rails toward the rear. If the black phosphate is still pretty much there, the weapon's not been fired much.
As for original SIG P225 magazines, I got mine from Ed's Sport Shop in Tamaqua, when they were set up at the FOTDHAS show at the Fairgrounds in Allentown. IIRC they are like $35, +/-.
In my experience, the P6 sights are well-regulated at 25 yds with factory standard 115 and 124 FMJ. Very reliable with FMJ, very accurate. Reasonably light on the hip. Older guns are not ramped for JHPs, but Custom Creationz can mod the ramp for JHPs and it will be 100% reliable.
