Default Possible move to North Fayette/Imperial area with questions

I've got a job offer in North Fayette, and my wife and I are considering moving to the area as it would be an hour+ commute.

I'm not too familiar with the area at all. My wife is a little more so as she is from Crafton.

What can you tell me about the area?

Any good shops/ranges/places to shoot around?
    Any good gun clubs?
    How about hunting land availability?
How about housing prices and availability? We'd be looking to rent for a year or so, then consider buying.

    I'd appreciate any feedback

I like the area although it seems that more and more housing is going up not far from North Fayette twp municipal bld.

Are you looking to buy hunting property or just places to hunt?

I used to hunt all along North Branch road and back to Noblestown and a pretty large tract that used to owned by Consolidated Coal (now posted). Quite a bit of this area now has new homes and more and more area is posted. I don't small game hunt anymore but get deer sporadically ( my friend has about 100 acres).

McDonald Sportsman's club appears to be a nice club with 600 yd rifle IIRC. The range rules are generally not as restrictive as many clubs but if you don't do work parties regularly, I think dues is about $150. Greater Pitt shut down a few years back so that's no help.

I think it's part of West Allegheny school district.

Over all, I think it would be a nice place to live.

Federal Firearms (which is on Thoms Run road between Oakdale and Heidleberg is probably the closest gun shop---4 or 5 miles). It's a bit small but not too bad.

My hunting buddy grew up close to there and another friend has the farm I mentioned. It falls into the special regulations area 2B so deer hunting is with shotgun only.

    Hope that helps neighbor.

rent might be cheaper in beaver area or monaca area moon is not bad.

shops there is only a few like 27 said federal is nice can get what you want and john browns in beaver county plus gander mt in moon twp up on the hil.

i'm guessing that rent is in the 600.00 to 700.00 a month in a condo house might be the way to go if you can find one.

Corapolis Sportsmans Club is nice too.

North Fayette is a nice area, no major issues, I am from Carnegie, so I am familiar with the area too.
