    Default Brown Bear .223?

Im looking to stock up on .223 ammo. Looking to spend around $500. Has anyone had any experience with Brown Bear brand? The reviews on the site say its pretty good for the price. I have a 1/9 twist barrel on my ar-15.

It is the only ammo I have ever had a problem with in my AR. I refuse to shoot it anymore. I have had quite a few casings get lodged in the barrel. I read that it is caused by the lacquer getting sticky as the barrel heats it. That seemed to make sense so in order to get rid of the last of that crap, I would run a bore snake through my AR after each mag to prevent any sticky buildup. That seemed to work.

Pector's correct, I have had the same issue's. Nothing major but the lacquer can gum things up. If you want to keep the cost's down, by using the Russian stuff, upgrade to the Silver Bear. Zinc coated as opposed to the lacquer to prevent corrosion of the steel case.

tried some . . . don't buy it anymore, sucks to clean after every magazine

Been buying Prvi and have over 500 rounds through it without cleaning so far. It'as also reloadable boxer primed brass (does need decrimped). Also shoot a lot of Federal .223 100/$39 something at WM

I bought some BB 62 gr HP ammo a few months ago. I'm keeping most of it as a rainy day stash, but I put a few boxes through my Mini with no problems. Accuracy was pretty comparable to Wolf Polyformance for me. Maybe a little better. If you can get polymer or zinc coated ammo for a similar price though, I'd go for that instead. One less thing to worry about.

Ok so Zinc is good recommendation, it seems like the Zinc only comes in 62Grain, how will that perform in a 1/9 twist barrel compared to 55 grain?

i have roughly 3000 rounds down the pipe of my AR with zero issues or malfunctions using Silver Bear. it runs hotter than Wolf by almost 150 FPS over my Chrono. i seem to have better accuracy with it as well.
