    Default Charles Daly bankrupt !!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if this has been posted here before but....

    http://www.charlesdalyforum.com/showthread.php?t=1744

To all our friends, fans, supporters and consumers of Charles Daly and by extension, KBI products, I regret to inform you that the rumors of our demise are true.

KBI is going out of business and closing its doors, effective today.

I don't want to go into each and every detail as to why this has occurred, except to say that there have been a multitude of events over the past five years that have contributed to our current situation.

For those of you with ongoing service requirements, please be advised that we are currently negotiating with several companies that will be performing after-sale service of Charles Daly, CD Defense and Jericho firearms. As soon as we have finalized a contract with one of these companies we will post the name, address and contact details of that company so you will know who to contact to obtain service on your KBI firearm.

We will allow this forum to remain open as long as all discourse remains civil. If any posts deteriorate to a level that is beneath the standards of this forum then the forum will be closed to all posters and will only exist for announcements from KBI.

Again, I wish to thank all of you that have supported our company, this forum and Charles Daly these past 20 years. This spells the end of KBI but I imagine it will certainly not mean the end of Charles Daly and CD Defense. Look for this excellent brand to resurface in the very near future.

    Sincerely,

yea I saw this and I can't say I didn't see it coming. All the time they lost their 1911 pistols and then the manufacturing company essential gives the design to magnum research.

They were an importer/ distributor. They might have assembled their AR's, but they were not manufacturing anything.

does it worth? I'm torn on whether this news makes it more or less worth that price.
when you can get DPMS stripped lowers for $130 or less, why?

Is a name worth the extra cash to you?

    It's not a quality thing, it's a practicality thing...

I don't really see charles daly stuff as being collectible. Saw a 1911 at the shop last week. Walked right by it.

Isn't there are currently only 4 manufacturers that produce the majority of lower receivers for the AR market?
MMS, CMT, LMT and LAR receive orders from licensed manufacturers who obtain an ATF variance to have them cut and logo receivers on their behalf.
And both DPMS and Spikes are made by LAR...
SO another words, all of them are pretty much the same. The actual brand of receiver means little to nothing?

WIth that being said, I may pick one up, just because my local dealer have one in shelf(or at least they did few weeks ago), and there is no wait. And their engraved logo is pretty cool...
