    Default AK and friend

Arsenal SGL20 in plum and lovely dimpled Saiga 7.62x39 soon to be converted to AK format. I cut off part of the FSB shroud on the Saiga to reveal a factory threaded barrel. Kind of like finding a crisp $20 bill in your old jacket pocket

It's nice to have a threaded barrel because you can add a brake. This past weekend I rented the 14x1 LH thead die and tats to thread the barrels of my WASR2 and SAR1. While I had it, I also did a Bulgarian 7.62 for a friend of mine.

I love that Arsenal and being someone who loves to tinker, I want a Saiga just to do the conversion. I enjoy my firearms better when I have some time personally invested into them.

I have the exact same arsenal and it is AWESOME. I have monkey arms so I got the NATO stock, which is a nice option to have. I can hit soda cans with relative ease at 100yds which was a prayer with any other AK I've had. Plus shes a beauty, SHTF in style!

Yes, as Pector55 mentioned I intend to put a muzzle brake and now I don't have to send my barrel out to be threaded or rent a threading kit.

    My sentiments exactly!
I bought the Arsenal and I love it but immediately got the urge to "roll my own". I'm also a tinkerer by nature.

crlovel- I bought the Arsenal during the sale but I notice that the price now is only $80 or so more than I paid. I think the SGL20 is a great bargain at under $700. I see them posted on gunbroker for much more.

Kb! Bob- I almost got the black then changed my mind at the last minute. Looks like I may have gotten the last plum
I think I have monkey arms too but I love a compact rifle. The Saiga will have a small folding stock when I finally find some time to complete it.

PA Rifleman- thanks! Pictures are easy, hitting those teeny targets is more difficult.
