    Default Qualifiying Factors

What are the qualifying factors to get a permit in Philadelphia? When you go in for the interview the ask you if you owe parking tickets or if you drivers license is suspended, if your ever been sued and a bunch of other stuff that has nothing to do with getting a permit. I thought i rule was if you can buy a gun then you "shall" be issued a permit.

The requirements for issuance of a LTCF are a bit more stringent than those for purchase of a handgun. Philly does add a lot of crap that they shouldn't, though.

Nope. If you don't "play along" they'll deny you, then the ball is back in your court to mount an appeal. Frankly, I wish more people would take the time to do this. Simply assert your 5th amendment right when asked all of the extra questions.

Their goal is to deny as many people as possible. If you tell the truth, they'll find a reason to deny you, and if you lie, and they catch you, they'll deny you for that.

Well from what i understand Philly is one of the toughest counties/first class citys to get a permit. As far as them asking you those questions (if they are really asked) could just be a cop-out to be able to conclude that your character is not sufficiant enough to get the LTCF. Just my opinion here but i have done alot "brushing" up as of late.

I believe they have an appeals board, but if you don't get satisfaction there, you have the right to appeal to the Court of Common Pleas - ie a "real" court, with a "real" judge.

It would seem to me that if you have outstanding warrants for traffic tickets that might disqualify you as a law abiding citizen. Not sure how it works in PA but in many states if you ignore an outstanding ticket a warrant is issued for your arrest.
