Grice's Gun Shop
I went to Grice's Gun shop in Clearfield, Pa yesterday after hearing about it from my co-workers for months. I live about 100 miles away from Grice's and the trip there was worth every inch. They have a selection of guns (new and used) second only to cabela's. Grice's has fair prices over all as well as a selection of accessories that an average person would buy. This place is HUGE and packed with everything you would need and then some.

Re: Grice's Gun Shop
I was at Grice for the first time this past weekend. Some good prices on guns but when I saw all the ammo prices I wanted to kick them in the face- absolute hogs charging $325 for a case of Wolf 7.62x39, its over $100 cheaper on the interwebs. $8 a box for Wolf .223! Though I will say all employees were pretty friendly and helpful even though they were so busy.
Went to Bob's then also for the first time and bought several ammo cans, paracord, camelback, and a rucksack. Tried looking at guns but it was pretty crowded. Finally was the only one at the carousel with the handguns on it and then some guy ran up and almost stuffed his head inside while I was turning it. I stopped figuring he'd want to handle one but he just kept staring, literally 2 inches away from the guns... a little weird. Employees there were also very friendly.

Bob's doesn't have an overwhelming about of surplus stuff but they have some cool stuff.
They also have guns.
And lots of fishing, hunting, camping stuff.Koli's back from Ambler.

Re: Grice's Gun Shop
I have purchased guns grice's twice. Many people complain about the service, but if you can go during the week it is much better. When I went on a sunday the service was fine but the number of people at the counters made it difficult to compare guns from different companies.
This year I was able to go to the sale on a tuesday. I felt like I owned the place. They let me take out more than 1 pistol at a time and compare different brands. A few shops I went to only let you see 1 at a time. I was not pushed to buy more than I wanted and got all the extras that I asked for. They only downer was it was late in the sale and the selection of ammo was small.

Re: Grice's Gun Shop
Just posting up my dad and I's experience at Grice's today.
Arrived at 9:15, so it was really empty inside.
We looked and found what we wanted and within a minute a very friendly employee asked if we needed some help.
We asked to see a new Ruger SR9 and the SR9 compact.
Employee showed us both, answered our questions, etc.
Dad decided on the SR9 and the employee helped him get some ammo and look at holsters (did not find one he liked).
Whole process was in and done within 30-40 mins from start to finish.
This was one of the first times I have been able to get there early on a workday and the experience was totally different than it has been on Fridays and weekends.
Thumbs up from my dad and I - all went smoothly.

Re: Grice's Gun Shop
FYI- I was just at Grice today and picked up a sweet S&W Model 17-4 for a very nice price. they are REALLY heavily stocked with used right now and the prices are right on quite a few. Their used prices are always lower when they have a lot of stock. Sig's, Ruger's, S&W's, lots of semi auto pistols.
Also- if you have a S&W 5900 series semi auto, they are closing out their stock of Pachmyr grips (the only aftermarket grips I've ever seen for the 5900 Smiths) for only $9.95- they were $26.95 a couple weeks back. Had around 8 pairs-well probably 7 since I purchased one for my 5906.
Key to a good Grice experience is to stop in Monday through Thursday. They are freaking packed on the weekends leading to long waits and less help from their staff.NRA PATRON LIFE MEMBER, GOA, SAF, PAFOA
