Default PA resident buying ammo in MD

I went into a local shop here in MD and was told since I was a PA resident I could not buy it. I went next into the Walmart in Towson and they told me the same thing.

Can anyone here confirm this is in fact a rule for MD?

I've been here for 5yrs and have had no need to buy ammo in MD but now I buy what I need when I can find it.

I've purchased ammo in Md several times. no such law that I am aware of.
Are they asking where you live? Do you look younger then 21, and they ask you for ID?

They ask for my DL to confirm residence. Once they see its PA its a no sale.

I'm 40 so I doubt it has anything to do about looking young.

I've bought ammo at Cabela's in West Virginia. Bought powder at Outdoor World in Michigan. You can order ammo and reloading supplies over the internet; so what's up with Maryland?

This is the first I've heard of this. I've never been asked to confirm residence.
What gun shop was it that would not sell you ammo??

I have purchased ammo at Dick's and Wal-Mart in Hagerstown, Maryland numerous time with no questions asked about ID. The only question was "How many boxes do you want?"

You've just run into some dumb-asses. Lots of them in MD, so just keep your money on this side of the border.

No rules/laws against it. I've bought ammo at Dicks, Walmart, and multiple shops. The mouth-breathing morons at Walmart south of Belair want you to fill out a form that "requested" by the state police. The MSP are asswipes for making the request, and any business that complies is the fecal matter on the aforementioned asswipes and does not deserve my money. Not that I feel strongly about this issue.

Isn't that interesting. Not too long ago I read a post about Marylanders being questioned by the gestopo at their homes after purchasing ammo for weapons the gestopo didn't show them owning. I believe I posted that they should come up to PA to buy their ammo, then Maryland wouldn't know they had it. The interesting part is that somebody from PA is buying ammo in the Socialist Republic of Maryland. Seems back asswards to me.

Well since then and now I have come to learn a few things. I am fortunate 5yrs ago I decided not to reside in Md. Man the rules in that state. Formerly from Texas I would have been going nuts in Md. PA is even more forward towards gun use than Texas was, if you can believe that.

I have also begun to find 99% of what I need showing back up at the local Walmart or at a little at Midway (prior to their retarded 2 box limit). I at the moment have no need for more ammo except .45acp and I can wait on that till the situation presents itself to me.

The asshat at Walmart in Md spouting these rules to me was reiterating only what his manager told him to say.
