Personally, I love it. But I understand that it's not for everyone. I "grew up" holding the magazine well. It's how I did it in the Army, and it was how I did for years after. But I think the far-forward grip really is a better ttp for running a fighting carbine. I went from a no-vert grip approach, to using a vert-grip as a "marker", to the KAC handstop, and finally to the AFG, which is exactly what I had been looking for, especially with the SBR.

Out of curiosity, how much did the lmt upper/lower run you?

I'm starting a similar SBR build so just trying to gather $ figures.
    Any other recommendations are welcome.

Also, I might be interested in your M68 for my Sig 556 as a backup CQB sight.
    I'll let you know.

How do you like the Ace stock? I've been looking into one, but can't find any feedback about it.

The MRP upper was $1080 from Rainier. The lower was $300 from Dynamic Armament.

For suggestions for SBR uppers, my top three picks would be LMT (10.5"), Larue (12") or BCM (11.5"). Larue is around $1200, the BCM is, I think, around $600 - $800, depending on what rail you get (or don't). A 12" bbl is, I think, the perfect length for a SBR. 10.5" works great, but is right at the edge of being problematic. That's where the Noveske KX3 comes in... it's main purpose is to trap more pressure to increase the SBR DI system which helps keep the rifle cycling. AR carbine barrels under 10" are notorious for being malfunction-prone because they lose a lot of the pressure needed to cycle the battery.
