Re: Pennsylvania Gun Friendly?
I'm a private pilot, ham, cyclist, coffee nut, and my neighbor is a beer connoisseur, so I can probably help you out with a good number of those.
KLOM may be a good source for side work if you ever feel you need to find some. They're the busiest small airport around and always have a ton of broken rental planes. The manager, Tom, is a bit of a difficult guy, but if you're no-nonsense enough, he can be dealt with. I used to fly out of there but he's too expensive for me anymore.
There are a number of ham clubs around, but none of them are that great. You won't be far from the HRO down in Delaware if you need ham supplies. There are a ton of hams on this board, and there have been rumblings about actually talking to each other on the air. Search for one of the many Ham Radio threads to find us all.
If you're into road cycling, Phila is the place for you. There is no shortage of rides to find. Most every weekend, there are rides leaving at 8 and 9am from the art museum area, which won't be that terribly far from you. There's also a free time trial every Saturday morning at 7 from the art museum. There is a lot of MTB around, too, but to me, MTB is for weenies, so I wouldn't know the first thing about finding MTB groups.
There's a bike path that runs from the Art Museum about 25 miles out to Phoenixville, and it's damn crowded once it warms up.
Ummm... I guess that's all I have for now.. heh..

Re: Pennsylvania Gun Friendly?
Hello Gents,
Well it was all an academic exchange here. Not making the job change after all. I was so looking forward to being eligible for a CLSlll .22 rimfire.
Sure glad I asked the question though. generated lots of good conversation.
OR or AZ might be in my future and maybe a American 180 too!
Thanks Again Gents

Re: Pennsylvania Gun Friendly?
Hey, It mite happen but not in the time frame I expected.
But the preparation fired me up to come out and look around.
Can't believe what western PA looks like from the satellite.
Worth a closer look.
thanks Gents

Re: Pennsylvania Gun Friendly?
Pennsylvania is a gun enthusiasts paradise compared to Illinois. We cannot carry here which really sucks. We need FOID cards to even touch a gun in a shop. We also need one to posess a firearm. Three day waiting period on handguns and one day on longguns. The state is just backwards when it comes to gun rights.
