Default Curiousity...What makes Blaser rifles so expensive?

This is just for pure curiosity...but I frequent gunbroker.com and always see Blaser rifles for sale. Why are they always asking the better part of $10,000 for them? Handmade? Made with Gold? Diamond encrusted? I know I'll probably never own one...so was just wondering.
    Thanks

Hand fitting, quality, strength, name, etc.. Same reason a Holland & Holland, Purdey, and others command big dollars.

everything made in Germany is expensive

Even a Volkswagen, A volkswagen Phaeton in Germany cost $150'000, not to mention that the Euro is nearly 2-1 per Dollar

Thanks for the info. I guess it's all in perception. To me, $9000 would buy most of my dream collection...M1 Garand, M1A Socom II, HK USP .45, Glock 19, a very nice 1911...plus a few .22s for s&g's. Maybe I'd think different if I could afford 9k on one gun. Oh well...
