    Default 500 S&W Ammo

For those owning one of these hand cannons, Sportsman's Guide has Magtech 400 gr JSP for $124.97 for 80 rounds. This is non-Buyer's Club price. The drawback is, it is on backorder now until 12-29-2010. I decided it was a decent enough price to wait for it.

At that price & wait wouldn't it be worth reloading?

I just checked a local supply & they have 330 grain cast lead bullets @ $47.17 for a 250 count. I know you were looking for jacketed 400 gr JSP complete rounds and if $124.97 for 80 rounds is good for you that's great. Reloading for this round seems worth it.

In my opinion, it's the only way to go. I reload for about 30 cents a round, and about 20 cents if I'm using lead cast light loads. Compare that to over $1.50 per round a wait period of nearly a year.

Jmanzini, thanks for the heads up on the ammo.... but if I were you, I'd seriously consider getting into reloading if you have a .500. The equipment will pay for itself very quickly.

    $125 for 80 rounds.
What is the cost of shipping? Add that on if there is a fee; that'll be your real cost.

I'd definitely start reloading if I were you.

Lee Reloading press kit- about $100
    100 lead bullets- $50
    100 primers- $4
    Powder (You'd get roughly
    175 reloads per lb @ 40gr) $15 (per 100)
    ___
    $169 for the first 100.
After that it's about $69 per 100 rounds. The press will pay for itself in no time.
