Finally got a smaller carry gun. I've wanted something that fit my hand, and my budget. After lots of research and gun molesting, I chose the M&P9c.

Took it out to the range today and put 200 rounds downrange with it. It shoots very nice and believe it or not i was surprised that the recoil was more manageable than my Sig 226.

Groupings at 25 feet were more then acceptable at roughly 2 inches as the average.

Just gave it a cleaning and it is straight forward and easy. The only thing that bothers me is the the frame tool that is in the grip. It took me quite a while to get it out, and the plastic nub that keeps it locked into place already has wear on it. I guess I'll just use something else and not bother with the tool.

I have one kydex holster on the way for OWB carry, and I'm looking into the Crossbreed for IWB carry.

I have a 40c as my carry and love it. Only thing is trying to get extra mags for a resaonable price. I check 44mag every day, they have them with the finger rest for 24 bucks. Seems to be best price I found but havent searched real hard either..

I had a set of Zone 3 tritium's installed saturday be advanced arms in Pittston. Still have to get to the range to test em out..

Very nice choice. The SW M&P9c is my daily carry - I use the MTAC IWB holster (Very comfortable).

BTW - SW has very good customer service. I received 2 free mags during their promo and they came with the regular floor plate. I called their CS and asked if they're able to send me the pinky extensions for the mags and they sent them to me free of charge. Might be worthwhile for you to give them a call if you're interested.

the gun that i purchased, only had the 10 round mags. one with the pinky and one without. i bought a 12 round pinky mag on the spot, but it was *gasp* $41.

i hope the mags loosen up a bit tho, because the last round is a PITA to get in without destroying your thumb.

Congrats! I too have a M&P 9c with just over 1k rounds through it without a single failure to fire, feed, eject, etc. Most importantly, have fun (but be safe )!

I love M&P's!
I carry M&P9C, my wife's night stand gun is M&P9 with TLR-2, my night stand gun is M&P45, and above mentioned M&P9C!

Master pushing the decocking lever lever down with your finger. It's kinda tricky but it saves the frame tool, which is a very poor design. That's the only thing about it I didn't like; the bump was almost gone after pulling it out a few times.

If you have a pen handy you can use that instead of the tool. Chalk it up for another M&P purchase... my dad purchased a full-sized M&P 45 shortly after I picked up my 9c.

I later picked up a S&W 4506... it's a disease!!!!! Oh well, at least we're keeping it in the family

You can also disassemble the gun without pulling that lever at all.
After making sure the gun is clear, lock the slide back.
Turn the take down lever.
Release the slide, then, with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, pull the trigger and proceed to run the slide off of the frame.
That lever moves the sear out of the way of the striker so you can get the slide off of the frame. If you pull the trigger, it does the same thing. Do this at your own risk. Yadda, yadda ,yadda.
