Default Springfield Armory Announces the XDm .45acp

The XDm 45acp has finally been announced at this years SHOT SHOW

Due to arrive 3rd or 4th quarter 2010.

I wanted to buy a .45 this year but didn't have my mind made up. I think SA just did that for me. I'm hearing it's going to remain 13+1, but if they can bring it up to something like 15+1 I'm 100% sold.

Wonder if they will bring it to the Sub-Compact line too?

    I like titties!
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

And so I don't get banned, I'll say that I'm not sure that any more than 13 rounds of 45acp could fit in the grip of an XDm. 13 was pushing the envelope as it was, and man is it tough getting the last round into my XD mags without the mag loader they included. I think a higher cap mag would make the grip effectively too long for carry, especially when sitting down. Now an optional extended mag would be good for range use however.

They would increase the circumference of the XDm grip, just like they did the XD grip to allow more room for the 45acp. The FNP45 holds 15 rounds in the magazine I believe, and from what I'm hearing so will the XDm.

probably not.... didn't with the regular XD 45

But, The XD 45 Compact is a sweet enough gun as it is with the 4" barrel and the shorter frame... like mine.

Where are the true high capacity giant stick magazines like for glocks? All I see are little base plate adapters to squeeze one more in.

There's just a big market hole.

I'm tired of blaming Obama, so I'm just going to go back to blaming Canada.

Plenty of "higher" capacity magazines. You don't need to have a 2 foot long magazine to hold 32 rounds. Alot of people sell them for XDs and XDms.

I just google searched it again, I can't find one for the xd in 45. If you had a link, or product name, that would be great.
