Thumbs up practical shooting for women

Just a heads up on a program running at Beaver Valley Rifle and pistol club. (I do not belong there and and am not advertising. My wife attends the program and I think it's a good thing).

The club recently started this program, right after the last NRA beginner pistol program.

It is on the second friday of every month at 6:45 P.M. down at the club and is on their indoor range. The cost is $4 for member and $6 for non-members.

It's basically ladies night at the range. They run through bullseye type target drills, and some low light stuff. It seems loosely arranged and they're trying to accommodate all levels of experience.

Attendance has been rather light the first few months, probably because of weather, but I wanted to put the word out there for others that it's going on.

THe wife is a ways from either of us feeling comfortable about her carrying, but through programs like this, hopefully she'll be there soon.

    This is good to see.

My wife ran a ladies Defensive Pistol League for 9 years in WA State, averaging 6-15 shooters every Friday night.

The skill levels of some of the shooters were pretty good after a period of time.

Hopefully, it will take off and be successful.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.

shawn, I think you're right. I believe that's who the wife said was running it.

Pass the word. This is a fledgling program that should not die due to lack of attendence, which is my concern.

There's lots of benefit to be had in education.

Sounds sexist and I'm surprised that NOW puts up with it. After all NOW challenged "ladies day" at car washes.

I took the basic pistol class there. Ev was one of the Instructors. I would recommend the class and Instructors highly to any one.

Re lead ammo - is this costly? Sounds like a specialty item.
