By an Officer not folling the Law and violating your constitutional rights he opens himself up for a civil rights law suit. I like my home and vehicles. No reason for me to violate anyones civil rights.

If such a state of emergency were to be declared, OC'ing would be a very very bad idea. Considering that neighboring states could send their boys in blue to enforce the "Law." Concealed carry is the only practical option to avoid being beaten, shot, arrested and anally probed.

It would be wise to evacuate densely populated areas to avoid a door to door Katrina style search. Lawsuits and all that shit is post factum, if you survive to pursue such pleasantries. In a very serious emergency there would be many major threats to ones life, dehydration, disease, mobs and law enforcement/military. All of these pose significant risks.

I know, the law says this and it says that. Laws are made up. There are only two absolute laws in this universe, gravity (larger objects attract smaller ones) and the laws of thermal transfer. Everything else is bullshit in that it is set by men. In a contest between survival and law, the law will lose. Just look at the atrocities committed by governments (our own first) in times of war and strife.

Run and fight from the mobs, run and fight if necessary from the authorities... if you want to live.

If an emergency situation happens today, Obama would just issue an executive order making new laws to confiscate everyones firearms.

And there would be no fighting it later because all civilian courts would be termned illegal by the new government.
