    Default License to Carry Firearms?

    Why is it called that?
You can Open carry without a license.
You just need a license to Conceal firearms.

Maybe we should lobby to have the name changed.
This would also eliminate a LOT of confusion and problems people are having.

License to Conceal Firearms. Wouldn't even have to change the acronym.

    Just one example...

You need a LTCF to Open Carry in Philadelphia, and to Open Carry in a vehicle.
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Or to carry in a vehicle.
    Or to OC in Philly.
Or to borrow a firearm from someone else.
Or to carry during a declared state of emergency (OC or CC)
Or to be exempt from Federal Gun Free School Zones (OC or CC)

I think the name is appropriate, as it does not just apply to CC.

I think we should call it a gun permit.

I'll quote myself again on this.

You also need a license to carry a firearm in any manner in a city of the first class.
You also need a license to carry during a declared state of emergency.

So should we call it a License to carry a firearm concealed, in a first class city, during emergencies, transport loaded in a vehicle, and transport unloaded in a vehicle to non-exempt locations?

LTCFCiFCCDETLVTUVNEL is one hell of a long acronym.
I really should just bookmark that post lol.

Maybe we should lobby to repeal the UFA (and other "weapons" laws) altogether. That way we won't need a license at all to exercise our Right to Bear arms (at least in Pennsylvania) regardless of the method or time we choose to bear them.

Can anyone name what other (State and Federal) Constitutionally Protected Rights require a State issued license for an individual to exercise?

I mean besides the Pennsylvania License To Conceal the Practice of a Religion, of course.

The confusion comes from ignorance of the law and or the ridiculous ambiguity of the laws themselves.

    An LTCF allows you to
    1) CC outside your abode or fixed place of biz (IE: public) Statewide minus the prohibited places. (Ref: 18Pa.C.S.§6106)
    2) carry a firearm (OC or CC) during a Pa. declared state of emergency. (Ref: 18Pa.C.S.§6107)
    3) Carry OC or CC in a vehicle (Ref: 18Pa.C.S.§6106)
    4) Carry OC on public streets of Philadelphia. (Ref: 18Pa.C.S.§6108)
    5) Allows a person to loan you a handgun (Ref: 18Pa.C.S.§6115)
    6) Exempts you from the prohibition of carrying in State Parks (CC only though)
    7) Exempts one from the fed gun free school zone act provided the school is in the same state as the license holder.

As you can see, it covers things other than CC.

Only way to eliminate the confusion is to get the unconstitutional laws repealed
