Flood Watch In effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday Evening,
The NWS in state college has issued a
Flood watch for a portion of central Pennsylvania, Including the following areas, Adams, Columbia, Cumberland, dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Montour, Northern Lycoming, northumberland, Perry, Schuylkill, Snyder, Southern centre, Southern Clinton, Southern Lycoming, Sullivan, tioga, Union And York.
>From Sunday afternoon through Monday evening.
Significant rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are likely across much of central and eastern Pennsylvania from Sunday afternoon through Monday evening. The heaviest amounts are expected over the susquehanna river basin, Where Storm Totals could exceed 2 inches in some locations.
The heavy rainfall may result in flooding of smaller streams and creeks, Along With Some of the faster responding tributaries of the larger rivers in the susquehanna river basin. In addition, Residual Ice In smaller stream channels will likely be dislodged and may result in the formation of ice jams.
Precautionary/preparedness actions,
A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding on small Streams, Creeks, Poor Drainage, Urban And Low-lying areas based on current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
