If you carry because of your job...
I'd like to know for my own curiosity...
If you carry, CC or OC, because of your line of work, I'd like to know what your job is, and the risks you take that contribute to your choice to carry.
I've read some interesting posts here about carrying while on the clock, and thought this could be an interesting thread.
(Sorry if this has been done before, but my preliminary attempts at searching for such thread were cluttered.)
Thanks guys!

Re: If you carry because of your job...
My Bold:
I guess I do not fit into the group you are asking about but thought I would reply with the following stipulation: I do not carry because of my line of work. I carry 100% of the time where legal, weather at work, play, home...
Now - onto my job. it consists of:
-Office work where a break in/robbery could occur.
-Road work where I come into contact with many different types of people - ALL STRANGERS - including obviously intoxicated people (drugs and alcohol). This is not an opinion - It is the reality of part of my work.
-OTR where I am often in "bad areas" and/or in places I have never been to before.
-I work either 6PM - 4AM or 8PM - 4AM. I love the night shift but so do the BG's I suspect. I have never pulled up the stats BUT anecdotal evidence from the # of Police incidents our employees are involved in, day shift vs. night shift, backs up this claim.
With all this said - Even if I worked in the safest job, in the safest town, during the day shift, with armed guards present, in a secure building......well, you get the picture I am drawing - I WOULD STILL CARRY 100% of the time where legal.
I do not believe you were actually asking how we carry at work in regards to CC/OC but the brief answer is: It varies. The only thing that does not vary is that I am always armed where legal with my Main as well as my BUG.

I OC at work, Public Safety Officer for a private community.
For me, I get a higher pay rate with carry, and we basically perform many functions that raise the bar, such as vehicle stops, alarm response, domestics, and more.

I work on a military installation and thus cannot carry. I wish I could.

Company policy states that I am not allowed to have firearms in the company provided work truck, which I do adhere to during the day. I am on call every so often and there is a chance that I will get called for an service outage in one of our lovely cities in Central PA. Everytime I venture into the night for one of these calls, I WILL be armed.
I work for a company that provides a service that millions of people use everyday of their lives, but I can't name the company if you know what I mean.
