Default Have Lower, Time to build

well, picked up a Spikes Tactical AR-15 multi cal. Lower at the gun show last week. really couldn't afford it, but it was a pretty good deal and thought, "What The Hell" i need a new AR but don't know what i want.

was leaning toward another 14.5" with pinned Vortex Upper, but now i'm not to sure.

    i already have a 14.5" POF 416 and a 20" Colt Hbar

    what are your thoughts?

    Caliber?
    Upper?
    Rails?
    BUIS?
    LPK?
    Stock?
    Sling?
    Grip?

ETA, i want to keep the Upper to a Piston Configuration.

I would really like to see someone build one of the side charging uppers that I saw posted on another thread. I would do it if I could afford to.

    http://www.americanspiritarms.com/pr...ver-38-12.html

    just a suggestion...

I'd like to see that too! I'm very interested in them, but don't want to pull the trigger myself until I see one that's got some trigger time

I'd really like going with a 6.8...I'm thinking of building one myself and want as many people as possible to start shooting 6.8 so that it doesn't go away!

As i'm new to the wonderful world of AR's what Calibers are available? Currently i've got a 5.56/223 AR and was looking at expanding my collection

    7.62 x 39 would be my choice.

Ive been eyeing those 5.7 uppers that take P90 mags, but the ammo isnt kind on the pocket book.

How about a bolt action .50BMG upper? Probably the cheapest .50BMG anyone's ever going to build.

Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

It does look funny without anything in the magazine well, though.....
