2nd Pizza Deliveryman Killed In Less Than 2 Weeks

Authorities say the victim, who works for Accu Pizza, was shot while making a delivery at 41st and Aspen Streets at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.

Police arrived to find 36-year-old Kouakou Jacques of Upper Darby lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the neck. Jacques was rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he died.

This is the second time in the last two weeks that a pizza deliveryman has been robbed and killed. On January 10, Jaime Orozco-Torres, 60, suffered a fatal heart attack after being carjacked and robbed while making a delivery in West Oak Lane. Four teens were arrested in that incident.

Unbelievable how callous these people hold human life anymore. Kill someone over what ? Wonder if the perp was a product of the catch and release system?

My friend at church has a son that delievers down on Temples Campus and he was robbed and beaten with a baseball bat while dropping off a pizza. The cops caught the guys and hopefully they will be spending a long time behind bars. This happened right before Thanksgiving.

My roomy had 2 pizzas stolen out of his car when he was at a house dropping some off... He is a big guy... 6'5" 260.. Not a small guy to mess with...

In all seriousness. I can't believe people are that hard up for 20 bucks or so to kill someone over it. Let alone someone just doing a meanial job like that to pay for school or a part-time gig for retirement.

I really wish more people would carry...

Phila. Police Involved in 2 Separate Shootings Wednesday

Philadelphia police were involved in two separate and unrelated shootings with suspects on Wednesday evening.

The first occurred around 6pm when police responding to a home invasion robbery on North 18th Street were fired upon by a suspect. Police returned fire and wounded one suspect in the arm. Three suspects were apprehended as they attempted to escape out the back door.

The second shooting took place just before 10pm when a 22nd district officer stopped a suspected stolen car. As the officers approached the car, the suspect attempted to run them down. Police fired shots and wounded the driver in the leg as he attempted to flee on foot.

He was apprehended along North 25th Street. The suspect and the officers were all taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment of non life threatening, minor injuries. All were in good condition. The officers are expected to be released on Thursday morning.

Three teens, 14, 17 and 18 years old, have been ordered to stand trial for the murder of a pizza delivery driver, who died during an alleged robbery in January.
