Colt Match Target Competition MT6700 Question
So I just acquired a Colt Match Target Competition MT6700 today and have a question. I know I'll need the large pin Geissele trigger for it. But I'm curious about the front pivot pin. The pivot pin on this rifle (apparently it was made in 2000 according to Colt's website serial number lookup) is secured with a screw instead of a captive takedown pin.
Can the screwed in pivot pin be replaced with a captured takedown pin?

Re: Colt Match Target Competition MT6700 Question
I know fulton armory makes one, there are probably others.

Re: Colt Match Target Competition MT6700 Question
I don't think I need the large front pin. As a test I put my 2012-model LE6920 upper on it when I got home and it went in fine. The rear takedown pin took a little finangling, but it went in amd secured the upper fine.
That was my biggest concern. This is going to become a Mk 12 Mod 1 SPR clone.
EDIT: I see they got the small .250 captive pivot pin as well as the large .315 one. May order both just to be sure.Last edited by Solaran_X; August 23rd, 2014 at 02:45 PM.

Re: Colt Match Target Competition MT6700 Question
OK cool, I'm not sure that the hole is drilled for the detent. and retaining pin on your lower you may have to have a place hook it up. I know ADCO or maybe CDI could handle the conversion. Sorry I get all the Colt lowers/timeframes jumbled in me head.

Looking to do it all in one shot with a custom built upper. Just add optics and suppressor.
Got some 20-round PMAGs for it today too. Felt dirty getting anything below 30-rounds...but bipods don't like 30-round magazines.Last edited by Solaran_X; August 23rd, 2014 at 03:32 PM.

Re: Colt Match Target Competition MT6700 Question
Yes, and without the spring and detent if your lower is not drilled for those parts.
Several different styles, including a sling mount pin.

Re: Colt Match Target Competition MT6700 Question
I've got one of those lowers around here somewhere.
I also drilled a few back in the day to replicate the spring/detent hole and relief hole as supplied on the factory standard lower.
Drilling those two simple little holes turns out to be a real pain in the ass. Don't try it without some serious precision drilling equipment- like a for real milling machine. A typical crappy Craftsman drill press with the usual spiraling run-out will ruin the job quickly.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter
