I do believe I paid $38 for my LTCF in Blair County as well. Didn't have any of the rest of the issues you point out, but the fee was the same, I think (they don't accept checks, I'd have to find my receipt or go back and check). The fee may very well have been increased (all the other fees have been).

I did just find though, that if you do a Google search for "Lehigh County LTCF" or "Lehigh County Carry Permit" (without the quotes) that this thread comes up as a result BEFORE the Sheriff's office page.
Ejamacashun = education... You didn't watch very much Popeye the Sailor when you were a kid huh?
When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.

sounds like the sheriff has been talking to or at least taking notes from the one in Monroe County

That's at least mostly true, in that you don't need a "permit" to open carry (Philly exempted), but must have one to carry concealed.

if in a city like Philadelphia or Allentown, you carried it in the open, worried citizens seeing this would call the police and you will be stopped and queried.
Well, as the threads on this forum have shown that part is absolutely true. It shouldn't be true, though.

All in all, though, it seems like a load of horse manure.

google tries to personalize its results, though.

if someone who never visits PAFOA does the same google search, any PAFOA hits might be further down the list.

From you scanned image it would appear the sheriff forgot a state or two or dozen plus or so states that have reciprocity with the PA LTCF.

"3. Can I carry my firearm out in the open in a holster? Your permit is for a concealed weapon; if in a city like Philadelphia or Allentown, you carried it in the open, worried citizens seeing this would call the police and you will be stopped and queried. And, who needs this hassle?"
In Pennsylvania, there are only two cities like Philadelphia or Allentown, and those two cities are - Philadelphia or Allentown, respectively.

Pennsylvania does, however, have cities such as Philadelphia or Allentown but we could quibble about that - Philadelphia is a City of the First Class, while Allentown is a City of the Third Class. Virtually all of Pennsylvania's cities are Third Class cities.

The person that drafted up the misinformation sheet most certainly failed English Grammar.
