    Default Let's Talk Bersa Thunder

I am pretty much settled on getting a Bersa Thunder .380 for CC, but I'd like a little input from current owners. Mainly, how are the different finishes? I am undecided on Matte Black, Blued or Satin Nickel. I don't care for the doutone finish. Need something that can handle pocket/holster carry as well as sweat and various weather conditions. I'm leanig toward Nickel, but not sure. If the Nickel is as tough as stainless, it would be a no brainer.

    Matte Black

    Blued

    Satin Nickel

I voted satin nickel. I am not a current owner, but I have read countless reviews on them and they are very appealing. I've always preferred that style gun in "silver" finish myself. I just think it looks better!

I owned one once. The slide wasnt fit to the frame properly, it took a massive amount of break in to wear away and finally run. My sister owns it now, and even now it still fails on occasion, although now I dont know why.

    and its a DA/SA

    and a .380........

I'd recomend against it. There are a LOT of better choices around the same size that shoot a 9mm.

and have you shopped for .380 ammo in the last year!

I have the 380 in matte and nickel.. It's a nice carry piece. i keep mine clean and well lubed . Not a problem. I have had it for over 4 years very concealable. Accurate to about 50 feet. Pretty happy with it. Good gun for the price.....

I do like the Kel-Tec line in 9mm, but I honestly like the Bersa look. Always wanted a PPK but not willing to pay a premium price. My budget is under $300.

Does the nickel seem pretty tough or does it scratch and mark easily?

I know this is a thread about gun color, and finish wear. Sorry to derail it. But I must make one last comment on the notion of price. You will not be saving any money shooting .380 instead of 9mm. Last time I saw .380 for sale it was over twice the price of 9mm. The KT is hard to shoot, ugry, and a beast with recoil. The PPK is almost too good to be true for what it is. But I was thinking more like finding a used Kahr, maybe a CW9, at just a bit over that price.

The one we owned that my sister now owns was bi-tone. The nickle slide has held up really well.

    an on topic post !

Agree, a used CW9 would be nice...I do like the Kahr line but new is somewhat out of my budget. I never seem to have much like finding good, used guns locally!

I carry mine IWB, its matte black finish. I had two small spots of light rust show up last summer but that was my fault for not letting it out of its fabric holster

The two spots came right off, not noticeable now unless I point them out to people.
