Default NO GUNS at Carbon County Fair!

The fair just ended and it wasnt until the last day I noticed a sign banning guns, knives, mace and other "offensive weapons" among the usual rowdy behavior and such.

The sign went on to state that patrons would be ejected from the fair for the remainder of that day without refund.

I suppose that since the Lions Club plans the event and I believe that the land is private property they can technically ban firearms.

Weird for a country fair to bad guns though, eh?

Weird? No, not from their point of view.

If the grounds is truly private property, then there really isn't much that can be done. Always respect landowners. Its possible that some counties don't actually own their respected fairgrounds but lease it.

I went to the Clearfield Co fair a couple weeks ago, there were no signs at two of the entrances that I used - so I carried concealed for my visits. Just way too many people, shoulder to shoulder, that could have resulted in a grab or retention issue. Nor did I want to scare the sheeple that may have been there, ...just wanted everyone to have a good time-even them.

Well, I think you have an affirmative defense here. Yes, I have a firearm, but it is neither offensive in nature, in use, or in appearance. Mine is a defensive firearm that looks nice.
