Police Chief and Sherrif, What are they like?
Hello all,
Me and my Dad are looking at getting a North Dakota CCP, I am 18 years old so I can get one in ND. However since we want an out of state ND permit we have to get a signature on the form from both the Police Chief and Sheriff. I am just curious if anyone has done this before and if anyone has any information on particular issues with this?
Thanks allot.
James

Re: Police Chief and Sherrif, What are they like?
Not sure about that issue in particular.
I can tell you that Chief Harper testified in front of city council in support of the illegal lost and stolen gun ordinance. He has made some other public comments as well that make me think he might not be the most pro-gun or pro-liberty person out there.
I can also tell you that one of the first things Sheriff Mullen did when he took office was make the process for getting an LTCF more difficult. He has also made some blatantly anti-gun statements (including at one point saying something to the effect that he wanted to make it as difficult as possible to get an LTCF in allegheny county) in the press even though he and some of his supporters claim to support gun rights.F*S=k

Re: Police Chief and Sherrif, What are they like?
I just read ND laws.... Those are some terrible laws! Basically you can't carry anywhere you would be in a group of ppl.
Also yes from the looks of the page, you must be present in ND to actually get the ND non-resident.
Also since you must follow the state your in's laws... would you have to be 21 to conceal in PA? I don't know that answer to this I am asking.

Oh yes I am aware I have to take the test in ND, I am willing to do that and due to full rep with PA I can then carry in PA. This does make me very nervous however with the Sheriff.
Thanks for all your help and all advice appreciated

Positive, It is basically they run a criminal background check on us and verify we are ok, I think it is also to prove we are not "known"..
All this to use our constitutional rights...
