How does this Saturday, May 8 sound? St. Thomas Sportsmens Association, PM me for directions. I'm bringing grill and burgers, how about anybody else? Normlizer says is in.

Shotguns and claybirds, too. I've got a thrower.

Trapshooters normally use FULL, though there is a use for IC, MOD in skeet and the "Claybirds" games.

I'm going to be at the range in Micheau at noon that day. I won't be able to make it to shoot at the TSA. I don't have a shotgun anyway. I can't stay at the range very long, I will be working on the new house, but I am tearing myself away to hit the range for a little while. If anyone can make it, I'll be the guy with a beard and long hair and a Carhart cap.

Well, I will be there tomarrow about noon. If anyone is there, say hello. I'll probably hit the pistol range first.

It's raining right now. But, as long as it stops I'll still be there. If it's raining, I will probably pass.

Well, we DID have our day at the range. St. Thomas Sportsmen's Association, on the Black Powder range. One of my old Navy buds came down from Shippensburg, and Normlizer brought Dan with him. We were looking for more, but we had the place to ourselves all afternoon. The "groundhog Shooters" packed up their 20-pound toys and left by 1 PM.

Of course, Normlizer ALSO brought this fascinating little 7-1/2" barreled "pistol"
    http://forum.pafoa.org/gun-pictures-...15-pistol.html

And for shooting claybirds, this - - - (the bayonet is for the REALLY tough ones)
    http://forum.pafoa.org/gun-pictures-...590a1-spx.html

Burgers and chili-dogs on the grill, cold Dr.Pepper, and temperatures in the 50’s, with wind gusting to 45 in the trees at the base of the mountain which made claybirds seemed to float for minuutes at a time.

And a hundred round (or is it a hundred POUND ?) drum magazine
, and on the pistol, no less.
    .
    .

    Awesome pair, aren’t they?
    .
    .

And it shoots nicely like this with 55gr bullets velocities over the Chrony averaging over 2400 fps.
    .
    .
    .

Dan brought his newly-assembled AR and his first shot zeroing his brand-new scope was only 4” to the left. He didn’t have to change the elevation at all – how’s that for fitting a new scope in the car on the way to the range???
    .
    .

After lunch, there was some real fun with the claybirds. They were tough, because BOTH these guys could not have missed that one.
    .
    .

Then we broke out the Winchester 30 cal carbine. Notice the flying brass.
    ..

I had to show these youngsters that it is possible to hit a claybird rolling on the ground with it, but for the sake of modesty, we didn’t photograph THAT part of the day.

We divvied up the brass before we left. What a pile!

Good friends, good fun, good day. Thanks, guys.

And an emphatic "NO!!!" It was not us who shot all the holes in the trash barrels. In the thirty years I've been a member, nobody has ever caught anybody doing that, but every barrel that gets set out looks that way. Maybe the club gets them pre-perforated. . . . Yeah, that must be it.

It looks like you guys had a blast. I wish I'd had the time to meet up with you. I hit the Micheaux range and put over 100 rds through my Kahr, then went back to work on the house. Maybe once I move I'll have more time. And, I'll be closer.
