building a one Hole Rifle

I have a Remington model 700 BDL in 30-06 cal. This rifle has a sporter barrel H&S Precision Stock and a Timney Trigger. These upgrades made the rifle feel and handle better but did not improve down range score. I am looking to find out what improvements I can make to this rife to be able to shoot long range and one hole. What would be the best barrel and what kind of gunsmith work would be beneficial to accomplish this task. I have been shooting Sierra 168 match king HPBT. Any and all information would be appreciated. If some work can be done in stages and see the progress the sequence would be good. Thanks for any and all help

What range are we talking? In the mean time here are a few things to get you started

Rifle/Barrel

Get it changed to a different caliber. 6mmBR is a good place to start
True the action
Print the action
Lap the bolt face
Lap the bolt rails
Polish Trigger
Change barrel to a 20"+ (Shilen, Douglas, Lija, Hart) (Not in any order) *Ensure proper crown*
*Ensure proper twist rate*
Ensure good barrel float

Loads
--------------------
Turn neck to matching thickness
Trim cases to matching lengths
Use a good seating die (Forest Ultra, Redding Comp)
Neck size cases after formed to rifle
Weigh each projectile
Weigh each case
Weigh each charge
Uniform primer pockets
Debur primer pockets
Find best OAL (Start .010" of lands)
Use quality components

Shooter

Practice shooting with no round
Practice breathing control
Learn proper rifle rests
Learn proper shooting technique
Shoot a lot
Understand shooting conditions
-----------------------

I think they're going to sticky it, but they're waiting on me to finish it. It lacks one or two more good long posts to be finished. I believe that's what they're waiting on. I'll get to work on them in a minute so it's finished and they can sticky it if they want.

It already is a sticky. Most have happened recently or I just don't pay that much attention to things anymore.
