Let's see your favorite hunting dogs!
Unfortunately, I have to rely on going out with friends who have dogs to experience the joy of watching a dog work the field or retrieve those birds...
How about posting up some pics & vids of your dogs sharing the fun of the days in the field with you!
Here's my grandpa with two of the dogs he hunted with. He had several hunting dogs over the years, but judging from the approximate date of the pic I think one was his beagle, Spunky, & the other is one of his BIL's dogs
Here is a random vid I found on Youtube that made me laugh... This dog was gonna flush that bird one way or another!
Let us never forget the sacrifice of those who have fought for us all.

Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion, without the discomfort of thought.

Toby on point.
Toby honoring.
Toby retrieving.
Toby is six years old and has had about 275 birds shot over him. We'll be back out after them on Mon. Unfortunately the majority were preserve birds. Even the non preserve birds were pen raised. The only time he got to hunt wild birds was on a trip to SD a few years ago.The older I get, the better I used to be.

Re: Let's see your favorite hunting dogs!
We run Hounds, and I am in the woods with these dogs when not working, 5-6 days/nights a week. My family has been beagling since the very early 1900's, and I have had/hunted my own dogs since I was 8 years old. A few years ago, I got some big hounds that we coonhunt with and run bobcats in the winter. There is no way I can mention all my favorites over the years but here are some current and past favs.
Rebel and Ruby after my first hunt with the Contender. I love that gun...
This is after a good day in the reclaimed strip mines
This is an older pic, but I love it. A few of these dogs are no longer around...
When we are not allowed to gun, we run them in competition. Rebel is My 5th generation bred here and this is his first win. He will hopefully finish for AKC Field Champion this Spring.
A couple of my coonhounds after a good night. Tess on the left is a Plott and Major, on the right is a Treeing Walker. These 2 are stone cold killers.
This Bear, a plott hound. He is treeing a big 'ol ringtail
And here is Luna, a Treeing Walker. Luna and Tess are very good bobcat dogs also, but I have never drawn a tag so...no pics of dead 'cats. Yet

Most useless hinting dog ever, but still my favorite.
