if sig releases the 516 in the same fashion they released the 556 and 522 it'll be several more months before any hit the market and when they do they'll trickle out a few at a time. i'd be very surprised if the 516 is priced competitively with the ruger since everything sig sells is a few hundred dollars more than what you'd pay for a ruger, SW etc. where did you see the projected MSRP on the Sig????

    $1300

Sounds like a great price for a piston. If it's true.

i find 1300 hard to believe but if 1300 is the truth that will be a pretty damn good price for a piston AR15. still not sure i'd jump on the band wagon though since i'm not convinced piston AR's are significantly better than DI. i'm more interested in the remington ACR, FN SCAR or keltec 308 than i am buying another AR15.

Yeah 1,300.00 was pretty accurate cuz that's about what they go for now.

However, comparably it's quite difficult to get a whole lot of info on the 516 with regard to reliability and carrier tilt from average Joe users.

I'm in the market for a piston system rifle to add to my collection, but I'm juggling Ruger and Sig.

Anyone out there have hands on experience with the 516?
