Re: PAFOA Group Shoot #36, Valentines Day!
Thanks to everyone who kept the fire going! I really appreciated it !! I can't believe that my husband got me to stay out in the freezing cold for so long ! I also really appreciated everyone who took the time to give me instruction and pointers on shooting since this was my first time. I had a great time. THANKS CHRIS ! The food at the restaurant was good too. So when is the next shoot without SNOW in the forecast?

Re: PAFOA Group Shoot #36, Valentines Day!
Finally got around to calling Springfield Armory about the light fires on the XDm 40. they walked me thru cleaning out the firing pin area. I sprayed all the firing pin parts/springs with Gun Scrubber Brake Free... cleaned out channel with Brake free as well using a q-tip. It seems about 25% better when pulling trigger... more snap to the striker now.
I am guessing the fit of the parts seem tight so any gun oil build up from cleaning slows it down. I don't think it was so much the cold directly as the cold just pushed it over the edge where it would light strike.
there was some oil in the channel plus there was some buildup at the bottom of the channel. Now to find some cold weather to test it in
Also see the WalMart thread for those looking for Ammo. I posted about Robinson WalMart and North Belle Vernon having 45 ammo, 9mm, and 40 in stock. all Federal usually."My Name is Earl" ;-)
