Game Lands range Closed till 8/31?

I went to the gamelands yesterday, but the ranges were closed. A sign posted said they'd be closed until the end of the month.
Does anyone know why?

Also, are there any other free ranges in the beaver county area? If not where's a good place to shoot?

WCO Gary Fujack made a report at the Aug 9 ACSL meeting that the Allegheny county game lands range at Wexford was closed for repairs and maintenance till end of month.

you guys should join us at the next PAFOA group shoot under " Shoots and Range Trips " on the forum we had 63 people last sunday and you didn't have to wait to shoot on the main range. We had .22's to .50cals keep checking for the next one its $5 to shoot no member ship needed.

I went on Sunday and it was still closed. Another thread here said that it might be another 2 weeks, pending inspection after the lead clean-up.
