Default Savage MKII ammo test...by a noob

First off, this is a very basic unscientific test done for fun because I lack the equipment to conduct a real test. This is just so you can see how I did, and maybe it will help you pick out some ammo the next time you're at the store.

Savage MKII off a bipod on a picnic table. I only got a couple rounds off before it started to rain so I backed up 10 yards and shot prone out the kitchen door.

I did a second test at 70 yards. See the picture for stats.

Awesome pictures...and the fact that you were shooting out of your kitchen gets you some rep! Nice job! This definitely gives me something to think about seeing as I just bought a Marlin 925.

Could you give a little more information on the ammo tested. Not familiar with some of the acronyms is all.

Sure, like what? Most of the acronyms are typed exactly how they were on the box of ammo. I'd try bulk FEDERAL (not winchester) ammo from walmart if you A. Shoot a lot or B. are cheap and can't afford CCI (just avoid stinger; it's expensive and doesn't shoot well in my gun)

Really though, federal and CCI seem to be the best on the lower end of the price scale

The CCI SGB is the only one I was curious about actually. Don't know if I am familiar with that one?

SGB= Small Game Bullet, basicly a Round nose flat point bullet. Thanks for posting the results of your testing I have been looking for a nice accurate new 22 rifle and I saw this model before but didnt hear any reviews on it. BTW what barrel length is on it? I see the RWS shot well ,I've always had good luck with it too in various rifles. Give the Wolf Match target a try if you can find it, excellent accuracy at an affordable price and actually out shoots Eley 10X in my rifle. Again thanks for the test.
