Your right, They arent. Those are counties in Long Island, NY. The westernmost end of Long Island contains the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn (Kings County) and Queens (Queens County). The central and eastern portions contain the suburban Nassau and Suffolk counties. However, colloquial usage of the term "Long Island" refers only to Nassau and Suffolk counties; the more dense and urban Brooklyn and Queens are not usually referred to as "Long Island," since they are politically part of New York City. Long Island has even worse restrictions, but as was bodero stated before those are not areas of concern for me.

Worse than what? Upstate? Some, but Nassau/Suffolk are nearly shall issue for residents...just with administrative restrictions. Also, I can buy a pistol whenever I want, some counties upstate make you wait months for each purchase to be approved by a judge.

Well, obviously NY is a very confused state about there laws for Non residents as a few people have replied to this thread stating they either have or have had a non resident LTC permit. I have also spoken to a non resident which has one.
I would like to see if we can get some serious facts from NY officials as what it would take to get a non resident LTC permit. Next chance i get i will be going to either a sheriffs office or to a court house and try to get some answers. It seems to me so far that since it is at the judges discretion for most counties in upstate NY that I am going to have to find a friendly judge.

I want one too, but I've accepted that it wont happen. I go there a few times a year. Deep new york. Upstate land. For at least a weekend at a time. I feel beyond naked.

LOL, if my skills are what they should be, he basically said you would get a NYS non-res when pigs fly, so if you got one, he wants a stamp for the flying pigs.....

Please tell me I am right....
