You'll love it. Great rifle, and MSAR has awesome customer service should you need it. Magazines right now for that version are discounted all over the place, since the new E4 takes AR mags.

Re: Second Birthday Gift
When I read the headline I thought you meant a gift for a second birthday. I was wondering what kind of gun you would buy for a 2 year old...
I now understand what you meant though. That is quite the nice birthday present! You'll have to let us know how it shoots.

Re: Second Birthday Gift
The rifle was at a big discount to. From what I understood from Microtech, the company is offering great deals to dealers for both versions of this rifle, because they are starting production on a new model that is chambered for 40,45 and I believe 9mm. They are also moving the plant from PA to north Carolina. This facility will be alot bigger allowing them to produce all their firearms at one time, The STG the E4 and the new carbine. According to customer service it will be at least a yr before they start production on the STG. So I guess I got it at the right time.
