    shoulder rig?

you could still use an IWB holster, and just clip it over your pants as opposed to a belt......

No belt = no hip carry.

You're left with a shoulder holster.
pros: Expensive for a good quality leather holster, no belt necessary
    $150-200
cons: If you don't buy a quality leather holster, you must buy nylon, which require you to strap the poorly made product to your belt to keep the holster in place.

Ankle carry: G19 is too big for ankle carry unless you're a mammoth.

Smart carry: wraps around waist and leaves gun hanging over your crotch, no experience with, but hear its extremely comfortable and very good for concealment.

Wrong, don't do this. Your holster won't be stable, and you won't be able to draw properly. Even if "but I practice at home and it works just fine". When you're in a struggle for your life, don't plan on things going well. If you holster shifts because it's not on a belt, good luck getting your gun out fast enough to survive. The holster, with no tension from the belt, might just lift off your pants with the gun itself, again screwing you.

    HORRIBLE idea.

I figure you have a few options.
    1. You could buy a belt?
    2. Start wearing a belt.
    3. Look for a good belt.

The problem with idea's that aren't good is that people read these threads, and I don't want someone to take away what you said as a plausible mode of carry. They might do so, and they might end up in a bad situation, and it might not work out too well for them because they thought your idea was a good one. When they can't pull their gun out of the holster, or the entire holster gets pulled off their waist along with the gun, and get themselves even deeper into the shit than why they felt it was necessary to draw in the first place, it won't be pretty.

An unfortunate amount of gun owners/people who carry guns for protection don't take the time to even practice drawing. Someone might think your idea was great, and find out in a bad way it is not a great way to carry. I'm just letting people know there are some significant cons to carrying that way.

Patriot Work Wear in Wind Gap has very reasonably priced gun belts. My girlfriend bought me one there the other day, it was $27 for a leather gun belt made by 5.11. It looks good, and it functions so well I'll never carry a gun on my hip again without one.

I dress in whatever fashion I have to in order to carry at all times. You must modify your style. Ask plexico what happened when he didn't.
