carry of spouses pistol
Are you able to carry a pistol that is registered to your spouse?
In other words can you and your wife carry each others pistols interchangeably?

Re: carry of spouses pistol
There is no pistol registration in Pennsylvania!!
That being said, a License to Carry Firearms, among other things, lets you carry a firearm concealed - any firearm (yours, your wife's, a friend's). You and your wife can swap firearms; yours becomes hers and hers becomes yours.

Re: carry of spouses pistol
I couldnt find a law against it when I had the same decision to make. So I figured it legal. I called State Police and talked to a random trooper who said it was OK. So....I cant give you a solid legal defense, and I know everyone is on thier toes cuz it varies by officer. BUT I do it. It really shouldnt be an issue.
edit: OK jeez. What he said.

You can borrow (spouse lend) and carry spouse's handgun if you have LTCF.[18 Pa CSA 6115]

Re: carry of spouses pistol
If you both have LTCFs, it's a moot point since an LTCF holder can borrow a firearm from a spouse -- or anyone else for that matter. It sounds like you both carry, so most likely that's the case unless you open carry and walk everywhere.
You can simply give a firearm to a spouse, parent/child, or grandparent/grandchild with no paperwork as long as they're not a prohibited person. So you could give it to her in the morning and she could give it back that night. Of course, the risk is that she'll decide to keep it.

Re: carry of spouses pistol
While you can lend a firearm to anyone who has a LTCF, a LTCF is NOT required to lend (or transfer) between parent/grandparent/child/grandchild/spouse.

Re: carry of spouses pistol
Something I've been thinking about doing is getting my wife a LTCF, even though she probably wouldn't carry regularly. My reasoning is that there are a few scenarios that would be convenient if she had a permit: 1) if we're out together in our vehicle and I leave my pistol in the glove box or etc. (to go into PO or etc.) with her in the car alone, or 2) if we switch cars etc. for some reason and she ends up alone in my car with pistol in the vehicle 3) we have some medical emergency where I end up headed to hospital etc. and she needs to take possession 4) situation where I need to arm her to help stabilize a situation, and of course in general would give her the option to carry on her own.
