    Default 1911 problem

Ok I was unloading the 1911 for the night and I took the mag out and I was about to rack the slide to remove the round for the chamber and only moves like a few centimeters.

I did take it apart last night to clean it and I put it back together properly so I don't know whats wrong with it or how to fix it.

try pushing the barrel down at the ejection port while pulling back the slide.

    carefully...

I really can't say what causes it, just know that it happened to me once with a para that I had.

I'd take it apart, make sure all is in order and try again. Luckily it never happened to me again(and i've since sold the gun).

    Listen.

Take the gun with the weak hand by grasping it over the slide. Wrap your hand right over the rear sight. Get it right in your palm. Just grip the slide TIGHT.

Using your strong hand.....and the Y between your thumb and and index finger.....smack the backstrap like you would during a draw...just rapping it forward. Do it hard.

    It will come loose then.

OK, I posted that about a round that is sticking.............

If it's empty and the slide is still tight, check to make sure the ejector has not come loose and is rubbing the slide.

Can you get the slide off?

    Was it an A-Merc casing?

I have never heard of unloading the gun for the night,
Remember dont chamber the same round more than a time or two...
And chambered rounds that were not fired may not like feeding if you need them to due to the bullet being pushed back into the casing from constant chambering of the same round.
Take the gun apart, Look real close at the spring post where it meets the frame, And look for spring binding marks under the barrel.
Also look real good where the barrel keys into the slide for any deformed metal or gung oin the locking grooves.
