Action ?
What makes a long action a long action and a short action a short action? How do you tell what the rifle is?

Geeral term referencing the length of action (rcvr and bolt) that is necessary to accommodate the ammunition the rifle is chambered for.
Short action:
.223
308
the "short magnums",
etc
Long action:
30-06
"regular" magnums like 7mm-mag
