Online target competition - SuperBowl Challange - 7 yds handgun offhand - By Feb 7
The last competition had a football theme, so I'm making this a SuperBowl theme.
Distance: 7yrds
Weapon: Any handgun (iron sights). Tricked out competition handguns are discouraged.
Shooting must be done standing offhand. Hold it any way you like, just don't use a rest.
If anyone wants to shoot with a scope, laser or other device, I'll keep two sets of standings. Opens sights & Scoped. Be sure to indicate which with your submittal.Shots: 7 rounds (If you miss the paper, it counts as a round)
Scoring:
Hit the football: 7ptsPrize: $1,000,000 cyber dollars
Between the uprights: 3pts
Touching the uprights is a deflection and does NOT count.
Anywhere else does NOT count.
Target: See below, attached in PDF and to be printed 8.5X11
This competition will run through SuperBowl Sunday night, Feb. 7.

Cool! Sounds like fun.
So by cyberdollars... you mean wiring $1,000,000 to the winner's account? That's generous!

I took your recommendation to go with 7yards. Plus it went along with Feb 7 & 7 pts. 10 yrds is just too far for us Joe Schmo's to do precision shooting.

So just to make sure I got this right.
Using the PDF the image prints 7 3/4" wide by 5 1/2" high on an 8 1/2" X 11" (landscape) is that correct?

OOOPS! I just found the "scale print" button and now I have a 10 1/4" X 7 1/8" image.
I'm willing to shoot at either of them but you have to tell me which is the right one!

This looks like another fun one.
Would anyone in the Dillsburg/Mechanicsburg area like to get together and do this as a group? I was at the Dillsburg game lands range the week after christmas and it was packed, I couldn't help wonder how many of the people were members here.

Okay, here's my first submission. I brought out four targets and this was my best. I used my Smith and Wesson 500, which although it can be very accurate... I am not terribly accurate with it. I just have a really hard time overcoming the urge to flinch when I shoot it. I had planned to use my beretta 92... only problem was I went to the range and brought the gun... but forgot my ammo (idiot!). This was the only handgun I had with me that I also had ammo for (other than my carry gun which had SD ammo in it). And I also thought we only had five shots, not seven for some reason. So, this is my best five shot submission .
The ammo I used are my reloads. 335 gr TMJ on top of 38.0 gr Hodgdon Lil' Gun.
The paper prints out with a border around it. My one shot (with a red arrow pointing at it) is over the picture... but within the uprights, half on the paper, half off. Does this count? Or must it be within the uprights and on the image?
I am calling this a 16... if the one in question is allowed, a 19.
Okay. I set the bar... not very high - but it's set!!!
