    Default Any forum members cut and thread barrels?

    Do any of you cut and thread barrels?
    Or possibly recommend a smith in the Philly area that can do it.

    I took my M&P 15-22 to him to be threaded. He does great work. he did precision threading for me for a future suppressor addition, but it might be quite a drive for you, you said you are in the Philly area, right?. But it might be worth it. He is a great guy to deal with, also.

    how about threading my rem 700 sps tactical 308 in pittsburgh?


    i found a shop that does that sort of thing and his price was from $35-$50 depending on what all was involved. i told him i would be down within the coming week. he then told me he couldnt do it until i got my paperwork for a surpressor. i told him i havent even started the process or decided which one i wanted and that i was just going to put a muzzle break on it. his response was he was required by law to have the proper documentation from the ATF before he could alter my barrel since it didnt come stock with a threaded barrel. any truth to this or is he just misinformed?
