I always carry on my ankle. If I know I'm going to be driving into a bad area, I might pull my pant leg up and tuck it in behind my firearm so I reach down and grab it real quick if I have to.

Has anyone ever used anything like these holsters? Ive seen them before and flirted with the idea, but I'm still in the "on your hip" camp...

I actually have the holster from that setup. I use it IWB and when we went on a 3 hour road trip last October to the good state of PA, I kept my gun on my hip, I think though with the rig it would be easily accessible, but I have to agree on the keep gun on your person crowd.
