The link to the previous version is no longer valid, but it sounds like the gun law class was mentioned before.

Public meeting held by public officials? Not sure on what grounds they could prohibit it.

True, but that's not what the pamphlet says. It doesn't mention that OC is legal in Philly, if you have a LTCF. It just says "Firearms cannot be open carried [snip] in the City of Philadelphia."

Setting aside the grammatical horror of the phrase "open carried", the pamphlet is factually incorrect.

I'm going to go out on a limb and ask if you all are not being quite fair with this bit of info. My understanding is that it is not legally permitted to carry a firearm in the city of Philadelphia unless you meet certain exemptions such as having an LtCF.

And Steve, I think what the poster was saying is you need an LtCF in Philly to carry. LtCF being issued legally by any municipality. Not that you needed a LtCF issued by Philly to carry there.

The links and images in the second thread seem to be broken. Can someone either repost working links/images or send them to me for addition to the Sheriff's letters page?

ETA: Thats the 2008 version. Also, does anyone know if those classes are open to residents of other counties?
If you don't know who your state legislators are go here:
    http://www.legis.state.pa.us/index.cfm
put your zip plus 4 in the box in the upper right hand corner.

True, but again, that's not what the pamphlet says. It plainly states that firearms cannot be carried openly in Philly.
