    Default Good 1911 carry grips?

My Warrior has Gunner Grips on it right now and, while they provide an awesome hold, they are cheese grating my side with my IWB holster. I know VZ and Aluma-Grips are the big names, but by looking at the sights I can't get a good idea of the feel of each grip. Does anyone know which ones are a good combo of tacky and comfortable? My love handles thank you!

i still have the stock grips on mine; i just painted them to a color i liked. Wilson Combat makes some really cool ones, though; i might pick up a set of them.

I really dig the hogue aluminum grips that are not checkered. I do not carry an auto loader, but my Sig P229 has a set of the natural aluminum smooth grips and they rock. They can feel a little cold, but not for long when in the hand.

I have alumagrips on my carry gun. They grip well and are STRONG, but they are also COLD.

I'd pick Carbon Creations if I did it again. I had those on a 5" gun and they were just about perfect.

I put a set of Hogue uncheckered Kingwood grips on my Taurus Pt1911, they are very beautiful though expensive , $100 plus shipping, but that Kingwood is awesome.
