    Default USPSA Production Holster Question

I am going to start shooting USPSA this year, been shooting IDPA for awhile, and was wondering about a particular holster choice.

After searching for a straight forward answer and looking at the USPSA Handgun rules which state
Suitable for everyday use. “Race gun” type holster prohibited.
Can I use a Blade-Tech DoH (Dropped and Offset) Holster in the production division.

Using my Google-Fu, I found as many people saying yes and those saying no.

Just trying to clarify before purchasing the wrong holster.

I have a DOH and Stingray. Love them both.

Why don't you just use your IDPA holster?

I saw plenty of them at the USPSA Production Nationals, which would further confirm they are legal. I used to use them, but I'm running a Comp-Tac in both USPSA and IDPA, however for USPSA it slides onto a CR Speed belt, which is not only easier (with the 5 mag pouches), but sets the gun away from the body more than a standard belt through the loops (as used in IDPA).

I agree with Lycanthrope, for getting started use your IDPA holster.

Well the reason I am buying a new holster for USPSA, is that my IDPA "rig was my M&P9 with a Blade-Tech Stingray which I love. However, until my wife's new pistol (M&P9c) arrives, she has confiscated my M&P9. Which leaves me which an M&P9 Pro, which I just bought, and have no holster for as my Stingray holster will not hold the Pro model.

If you cannot tell I am a big M&P fan. It is also the first auto pistol that my wife liked, so we are buying the entire M&P family for our family. Once I get all the 9mm Models, I am going to start the .45 Models.

Probasbly the most common would be the Blade Tech DOH. I use one for Limited also in foul weather. If S&W ever brings out a M&P Pro/L in .40 then you could uses the same holster in Production/Limited/Limited 10. The DOH is a pretty fast holster to draw from.

Thats the truth. IDPA and IPSC are corrupted by dumb rules that seem to change every year. You go out and buy a nice setup to find out in six months that they outlawed it for competition.

USPSA rules are damn near static.
