He was a moron with it, no doubt, but on the radio this morning they had an attorney talking about the situation and he (the attorney) said that it is illegal to transport guns in Washington, DC, or something to that effect.

I'd just like to know the real laws for down there, because the way this guy was talking just seemed way too broad and it doesn't seem like it could possibly be right.
No arrest or charges yet. Might be going to a grand jury.

Looking at the DC gun laws it's hard to imagine that none were broken. It's very hard to get the guns to the arena without breaking some law in DC.

This guy gives a pretty good run down on getting a pistol in DC. He does the process from beginning to end, and records each step of the way. It's a 4 part video about 20 minutes I think. It's worth a watch.

Yeah, that's a great process. 2 1/2 months, $200, several trips to the cop shop, gun store and an FFL dealer. Juts to purchase a gun and get it into DC.

Then he commits a few felonies with the concealed handgun, carrying and transporting it, only to donate it to a museum.

    Sounds like a great system.

Interesting concern, and a valid one. The two are being heard months apart, though. Palmer is sometime around the next week or two and McDonald isn't until March 2nd. Somewhere after that he has Sykes v. McGuinness and Peņa v. Cid and perhaps a few others. I agree Mr. Gura should be focused and uncompromising on quality, and he is. Lawyers usually have many cases going at the same time because the judicial process moves very slowly and they only get paid on completion, so they have to have lots out there at a time for something to cross the finish line often enough to have a steady paycheck. I'd imagine it also serves to keep them from getting too bored and/or frustrated just like you and me waiting on the results.

If anything I'd say it's really the opposite, that it's an advantage. Mr. Gura stays sharp by having lots of gun suits all at the same time to give him lots of repetition on the same material, and maybe comes across new stuff for one as he's researching another.
