ltcf eligability
if you are eligable to buy a hand gun (pass all the checks and all that) would you not also be eligable for a ltcf?
i guess what im saying is, is the eligibility criteria the same for a ltcf the same as the eligibility criteria to buy a handgun?

Re: ltcf eligability
The criteria for an LTCF include all of the criteria to own (see 6109(e)(1)(xiii)), plus more.
For example, the LTCF criteria allow the sheriff to deny based on "character or reputation in the community", which they don't interpret to mean "what people in the community actually think about you", but instead means "the applicant did something that the sheriff doesn't approve of but we can't find anything else in the law that allows us to use it against him".Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: ltcf eligability
If your county requires references, make sure it's people you know who won't fuck you over, simple. Just choose two good friends, don't choose a neighbor who has been telling you to "get your fucking dog off my lawn or i'll shoot it". The sheriff would probably never contact your neighbors, atleast I've never seen an instance of such a thing.

Re: ltcf eligability
Sheriff Nau is a great guy. He probably wouldnt remember me but I trained with him at the Penn State Issyan Ryu Karate club. At the time, I was club president, and I remember how knowledgable he was about all forms of conlict, hand to hand or otherwise. He respected all teh students desires to defend themselves as well as other responsible citizens.
The OP should be good to go with Sheriff Nauthe pen is mightier than the sword but don't ever fuckin' forget that sword. -topsykretts
