    If it is stuck forward of the chamber, trying to reverse it out of the bore is a recipe for disaster. It has to come out the muzzle. Guns & Glass has the right idea. Tie the end that's out of the bore to something solid so you can apply some real force. Lube the hell out of the snake/bore. Pull it out.

    I got it out! Thanks everyone for all your suggestions, most notably Mr. Guns and Glass. I tied the end of the snake to a tree in my backyard and gave it a tug. After it popped out, I cut it just to make sure I never make the mistake of using it again.

    Much appreciated guys. Now I can breathe again.

    I to have the end of the bore snake in my mini-14 about 1" and can not get it out. I did the same as you did, Know luck. Have not tryed the fishing hook yet.Help Some one PLEASE.

    I try the rod, it will jush bunch up in the barrle.

    Broke a wooden dowel off while slugging a barrel. Very frustrating and difficult to remove. Got a small stash of brass rods over the years, but luckily haven't needed them.
