Shipping blackpowder pistol from Europe to America

Right now, I'm in Europe. I received a blackpowder pistol from a relative as a Christmas gift. I need to know if I can legally take the black powder pistol back with me to Pennsylvania. Is there any way that I can have it shipped in my luggage? Thanks in advance.

I'm certain it would have to be declared. Not just for boarding, but also for customs(tariffs/duties).

I think its still considered a "non-firearm" for importation, but for airlines and travel its still a firearm. And you'll most likely have to pay duties on it.

It might be less of a problem to ship it home DHL or FedEx with the requisite customs declaration; depending on the value a gift (Cadeau) might not have any duty attached to it, and you'll only have to deal with customs once, not at both ends of both airports.

In theory, it isn't a firearm, so you shouldn't need an FFL.
